Get to grips with Jersey’s Employment Law with new course from

Dexter Flynn | 05/06/19

Voisin Law have teamed up with Compass to offer a new course aimed at helping line managers and anyone with people management responsibilities get to grips with recent changes to Jersey’s Employment Law.

The course, entitled ‘Essential Jersey Employment Law for Managers’ is geared for managers across all industry sectors and will help them gain an understanding of local employment legislation and how it impacts them as a people manager.

It is being run by Dexter Flynn of Voisin Law, co-author of the Jersey Employment Law Chapter of the Practical Law Company’s ‘Labour & Employee Benefits Handbook’ and Jacqui Richards, Managing Director of Compass.

The four three-hour sessions in October and November are designed to minimise business risk by providing delegates with knowledge of key areas of legislation relating to managing staff.

They will ensure everyone is up-to-speed on last year’s changes to the Discrimination (Jersey) Law 2012 which added disability to the list of existing protected characteristics as well as the removal of retirement age from the Age Discrimination Regulations 2016.

Commenting on the course, Dexter said, “We’re delighted to be teaming up with Compass again to offer some really sound advice to managers and help them understand the changes and ensure they are following the right procedures to remain compliant with the Law.”

The workshops will be held from 9am until 12pm on 15th October, 22nd October, 5th November and 12th November at the Compass, 3 Britannia Place, Bath Street, St Helier.

The course costs £895 with an early bird offer of £795 if booked by 28 June.

Voisin Law and Compass also run ‘Jersey Employment Law and Practice’, a recognised qualification endorsed by the Institute of Leadership and Management, designed for HR professionals.
