The role:
- This full-time role is designed for a dispute resolution practitioner who enjoys the variety of the Jersey courts and Jersey litigation.
- You will predominately be practising civil litigation: handling a wide variety of civil cases in all local Courts. You will lead on many matters and act as junior in complex high-value litigation.
- Portfolio: You will manage a varied caseload and must be adaptable, with matters including commercial and contractual disputes, contentious trust matters, estate disputes, building disputes and personal injury and clinical negligence. Experience in employment law and criminal defence is preferred but not essential.
- Client management: You will have primary responsibility for client relationships, taking matters from initial instruction through to trial and settlement. You will have day to day conduct of your files.
- Supervision: You will contribute to the training and development of junior team members.
- Strategic growth: Working closely with the Partners to implement Voisin’s vision in transitioning from a traditional model to a lean, high-impact practice.
- Business development: Drive business development by identifying new client opportunities, strengthening existing client relationships and contributing to the growth and profile of the department and the firm.
Technical requirements:
- You are a Jersey Advocate with up to 3 years PQE or a Jersey Écrivain who will be eligible to be sworn in as an Advocate this year.
- Before qualifying in Jersey, you spent significant time practising as a litigator in Jersey (or another jurisdiction).
- You are technically astute providing superior advice and advocacy across a range of subjects.
- You possess a genuine interest in law and a desire to provide a high-quality service to our clients.
- You have deep familiarity with Jersey procedural rules.
