AREAS OF EXPERTISE:
Principally involved in advising private and institutional clients on all matters of trust law (including commercial trusts) and corporate law, including advising upon the sale, purchase and restructuring of Jersey companies. He has a particular focus on advising upon and drafting trust documentation and is involved in many complex administrative applications before the Courts of Jersey in connection with Jersey law trusts, including Beddoes applications, Hastings-Bass applications, applications to set-aside, rectify and vary trusts and various forms of applications for court directions on issues as diverse as trustee disclosure to management of “insolvent” trusts.

Advised upon the ownership restructuring of a US$ 4 Billion corporate structure following a part-sale of the business to two international tobacco companies.
Advised upon the restructuring of two multi-billion dollar PTC structures in connection with their export to Cyprus.
Acted for the Representor on the “Z Trusts “ applications to the Royal Court being the leading authorities on the management of “insolvent” trusts.
Acted for a well-known FTSE 100 beverages group in respect of a corporate restructure of divisions of their business.
Acted for the Representor in respect of court directions concerning complex UHNW foreign divorce proceedings affecting the interests of a Jersey Trust.
Acted for the Appointor in respect of Jersey court proceedings concerning directions in respect of protracted foreign cross-border matrimonial proceedings affecting a Jersey Trust involving issues over “fraud on a power”.
Acted on a very significant shareholder dispute before the LCIA in respect of Jersey company law matters for one of the principal parties which covered complex areas concerning unfair prejudice and derivative relief under Jersey company law, together with matters of corporate governance.
Acted as Jersey counsel for several family structures each worth in excess of USD 1 billion in respect of on-going maintenance and Jersey law advice for those structures.
