Gaanesh Seger is an Associate in the Corporate Commercial team and is a New Zealand–qualified Barrister and Solicitor (admitted in 2018).
Gaanesh’s practice encompasses a broad spectrum of corporate, commercial, and private wealth matters, with extensive experience in cross-border M&A, capital raising, and business structuring. He regularly advises sell-side vendors, founders, growth companies, and private equity sponsors on complex share and asset transactions, joint ventures, and corporate governance. He brings strong technical capabilities in drafting and negotiating transaction documentation, as well as handling complex pricing mechanisms such as completion accounts, locked-box structures, earnouts, and staged consideration.
Having spent his early career in boutique general practice before specialising in corporate M&A, Gaanesh brings a versatile, multi-disciplinary perspective to his practice. His foundation in general commercial practice provided him with hands-on experience in private wealth and trust matters, employment law, and commercial property transactions, allowing him to advise on both corporate execution and broader operational and client asset structures.
Gaanesh also has significant international transaction experience, frequently managing cross-border workstreams and coordinating with foreign counsel across Australia, the UK, the US, and Asia.
Additional Information
Gaanesh qualified in New Zealand in 2018, gaining foundational experience across general practice and boutique commercial firms before serving as a Corporate (M&A) & Private Capital Associate at Tompkins Wake (a member of the global Multilaw network).
