Accounts Assistant

(20 hours per week)

 

Voisin Law is seeking a Accounts Assistant to join its busy Accounts Department.

The successful candidate will be required to assist the Accounts Manager with the efficient day to day running of the Accounts Department ensuring tasks are completed in a timely and accurate manner.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Opening & closing new clients and matters;
  • Re-open closed matters and adding to notes on Indigo Accounting System;
  • Amend Client details or changes (e.g. change of address or fee earner);
  • Transfer of WIP between files;
  • Write off WIP;
  • Check suspense files daily and transfer time as and when the new matter numbers are open;
  • Distribute new labels to fee earners or secretaries;
  • Record movement of files to and from store;
  • Record on Indigo Accounting System all changes to archiving;
  • Banking and cheque writing;
  • Time inputting for the fee earners when necessary;
  • Accounts Manager’s filing;
  • Make up files for purchase ledger invoices;
  • Box up and re-label old files to go to store and the same for all financial files;
  • Keeping the filing system up to date;
  • Learning part of the credit control functions with a view to covering our credit controller during holidays and absences;
  • Year end – closing/opening files;
  • Scanning and filing;
  • Processing purchase ledger invoices and;
  • General administration
