Frances Littler

Frances Littler grew up in Jersey and initially joined Voisin in 2008 as a bursary student before joining Voisin Law LLP full-time in 2013.

Frances qualified as an English Solicitor in 2015 and was admitted as an Advocate of the Royal Court of Jersey in 2019. She became a Partner of Voisin Law LLP in 2024.

Frances advises corporate and individual clients, both in Jersey and further afield, helping them navigate a wide range of disputes including commercial, contractual, trust, estate and property and leasehold. Frances also represents clients at inquests and in criminal proceedings.

Frances regularly appears before Jersey’s courts to represent clients in relation to civil disputes, non-contentious applications and criminal matters.

Alongside her advocacy work, Frances is also highly experienced in Alternative Dispute Resolution having settled a number of significant trust and other disputes at mediation.

Frances focuses on giving clear, practical advice and guiding clients towards solutions that are both effective and cost-efficient.

Protecting the rights of a local corporate lender faced with a defence of frustration arising from the Covid-19 pandemic, by obtaining summary judgment (Acorn Finance Limited v ECI Limited and others [2022]JRC115).

Appearing before the Court of Appeal to successfully defend an appeal against a decision of the Royal Court arising from longstanding litigation concerning reciprocal enforcement of an English judgment (Bates v Weston [2023]JCA141).

Successfully applying to set aside a trust on the basis of mistake (Representation of Craigmonie Hotel Limited [2024]JRC009).

Appointed as amicus curiae to assist the Superior Number of the Royal Court in relation to an appeal by a defendant arising from convictions under the Proceeds of Crime (Jersey) Law 1999 and the Criminal Offences (Jersey) Law 2009 (Umurzokov v AG [2023]JRC100)

Settling a number of substantial personal injury claims and securing a significant damages award for a client after a Royal Court trial.
